Today I spent some lunch time at a M$ seminar, which focus on the new visual studio 2005. This popular dev tools is more and more likely to be a user-friendly and easy to start. With the new Web Developer, you can easily design and build a community web site with user management and content upload/management support. With the new visual C#, a ’smart client’ which has builtin online/offline mode support and auto-update support could be developed and deployed even easier.
However, the bad thing is what we already knew, all those tools and their outcome only runs on microsoft platform, e.g. you have to use IIS (that’s what I can’t endure).
They gave out some free stuff like vs2005 express edition, vista beta 2, office 12 beta2 and sql server 2005 express ed. Unfortunetely, the only thing I grabbed is security seminar 2006 resource kit. Anyway, it’s not too bad because security issues on M$ platform is what I’m concerning.
M$ new stuff
