Cool projector

October 2, 2006 · Leave a Comment

The greatest repair project ever.

The PROXIMA DP5610 projector is salvaged from a huge rubbish bin. The first look of this machine is REALLY TERRIBLE. The shell cracked, the lens craked too. After I take it apart, the mirror system inside also fell down.

But finally, it is fixed and works great. What I need now is a suitable screen, since the wall in my room is in light color. That causes everything projected looks vintage.

Summer projects ideas

October 2, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Summer is coming. I got some ideas to make something.

Idea A: Air-Conditioning Fan

Basically, ensemble a normal fan and something salvaged from a fridge. I need it in the hottest days, I guess.

Idea B: Ice-cube Maker

Since I bought a ice cracker for $5, there is always some ice drink included in our meals. A problem rised: the ice cube preparation is too slow. I’m thinking maybe it’s possible to convert a fridge to a automatic ice-cube maker. This machine should be able to get water in automatically.

Long weekend

October 2, 2006 · Leave a Comment

It’s a unexpected long weekend for me. Although after submit the second paper, I really need a rest. A camping was scheduled but unable to execute because the long weekend: too many people go camping, I failed to book a site.

Then, except a half day picnic at Centenial Park, most of my time is spent on sleeping, watching dvds, and repairing my poor car.

It’s surprising that I got my two years old battery replaced in the final month of the warranty, gained a new three year warranty and got $12 money back. It’s the advantage that you paid more money in a high reputated store.

The almost crapped front panel is also fixed, by using some salvaged parts.

Replacing the wiper blades only cost me $3. I should do it earlier to avoid the scrach on my wind screen.
